You probably already know that you should be able to get all the vitamins and minerals you need by following a good diet and a healthy overall lifestyle.

What Is A Multivitamin Supplement?

A multivitamin is a supplement which contains a range of vitamins, and also usually some other active ingredients such as minerals, and they are generally designed to support overall health.

They are designed to be a convenient way of topping up your intake of certain important nutrients, including essential vitamins, that we need to get from our diets. Essential vitamins can help to support important processes such as the normal functioning of the immune system and energy release.

As wementioned above, it’s generally accepted that you should be able to get enough of the important vitamins and minerals you need by following a good diet and sticking to a healthy overall lifestyle.

Healthy Food

Daily vitamin supplements can complement a good diet and lifestyle (Photo: Adobe Stock)

This means following a healthy and varied diet containing lots of fresh vegetables and fruit, amongst other things. Nevertheless, daily multivitamin supplements are very popular, and they can work as a straightforward way to protect against shortfalls in some of the essential nutrients we need to get from our diets. In other words, they can help to fill nutritional gaps in our diets.

The exact ingredients and doses of multivitamin supplements vary from brand to brand, but in general most of them will contain a similar range of vitamins and minerals, each of which can help to play some important roles in the body.

Most daily multivitamin supplements come in a tablet or capsule that can be swallowed with a glass of water. Some products suggest simply taking one capsule in a daily dose, while others feature more regular doses.

There are also more specific multivitamin supplements available, such as ones which have been specifically designed for men or women. We’ll discuss these options in a bit more detail below.

Is Taking A Multivitamin Worth It?

As we have mentioned above, it is generally accepted that you should be able to get all of the important vitamins and minerals you need by following a varied, balanced diet and sticking to a healthy overall lifestyle.

It’s always a good idea to ensure that you’re following a good diet and lifestyle in general before thinking about any kind of supplementation.

If you’re already doing these things, then you may want to consider adding a multivitamin supplement to your regimen to help protect against potential shortfalls in certain essential nutrients.

Supplements and Diet

What Are Some Of The Essential Vitamins To Look For?

Not all multivitamin supplements are created equal. Although most of them will feature the same key ingredients (such as B vitamins for example), the doses and the delivery tends to vary from brand to brand.

Despite the word ‘multivitamin’ suggesting that the product is focused more on vitamins, most supplements also contain a range of essential minerals too.

Some of the important Vitamins you would expect to find in a good multivitamin are:

• Vitamin A
• Vitamin C
• Vitamin D
• Vitamin E
• Vitamin K
• Vitamin B1 (thiamine)
• Vitamin B2 (riboflavin)
• Vitamin B3 (niacin)
• Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid)
• Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine)
• Vitamin B7 (biotin)
• Vitamin B9 (folate / folic acid)
• Vitamin B12 (cobalamin)

And here is a list of minerals often found on the labels of multivitamin / multimineral supplements:

• Calcium
• Chromium
• Copper
• Iron
• Magnesium
• Selenium
• Zinc

You probably already know that the vitamins and minerals shown above are important, and they play a number of roles in some key bodily functions.

Editor's note: Any health claims about the ingredients mentioned in this article are listed as authorised on the EU Register at the time of publishing. Additionally, you should carefully check the ingredients information shown on the official website of any product you're considering purchasing, as formulas may change from time to time and therefore may differ from what's shown on this page.

Some of the benefits of the ingredients listed above include that Vitamins B6 and B12 both contribute to normal energy release and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Other important vitamins are Vitamin C and Vitamin D, both of which contribute to the normal functioning of the immune system. Vitamin D also contributes to normal blood calcium levels and the maintenance of normal bones.

Iron also contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, while Zinc contributes to normal protein synthesis, normal immune system function and normal fertility and reproduction. Folic acid, or folate, contributes to the normal function of the immune system. Folic acid also helps with the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Multivitamin supplement

Depending on your personal preferences, you may also want to pick out a supplement that’s Vegan friendly and which isn’t packed with many ‘filler’ ingredients or unnecessary additives.

It’s always a good idea to carefully check the ingredients label of any supplement you’re thinking of taking. Most of the good multivitamins on sale in the UK have clear and transparent ingredients labels in which the doses of each of the active ingredients are clearly disclosed.

We generally think it’s best to stay away from supplements that do not disclose the precise doses of the active ingredients on their labels, and you’ll notice that all of the products we’ve picked below have totally transparent formulas.

How To Use A Multivitamin

Of course, it goes without saying that you should carefully read the entire label of any supplement you’re thinking of taking for the first time.

This includes making sure that you’re familiar with all of the warnings, directions and ingredients.

We also think that it’s usually best to speak to a certified medical professional before taking any new supplement or making any major changes to your diet or lifestyle.

How you use a multivitamin will mainly come down to the specific product you purchase and personal preference. Some of the products featured on this page, for example, have multiple daily servings, while others are provided in a one-a-day format.

The best thing to do is to carefully check the directions of any supplement you’re thinking of taking, as the doses and the servings can vary quite a lot from brand to brand.

Supplements

Men’s Multivitamins vs Women’s Multivitamins

You have probably already noticed that some of the supplements on this list are geared towards a specific gender.

Whether you choose to go for a gender-specific supplement will really come down to personal preference.

Generally speaking, most of the best multivitamin supplements contain a similar range of ingredients whether they are targeted at men or women, but sometimes the doses of the specific nutrients may vary.

Some people may simply prefer to choose a supplement that has been specifically tailored for their gender, while others may not be concerned about this at all.

If you’re interested, we’ve got two separate guides to gender-specific multivitamins here on the site:

Anything Else To Consider?

As we have mentioned above, dietary supplements such as multivitamins are not intended to replace a varied, balanced diet and a healthy overall lifestyle.

Multivitamin supplements can be a great addition, but it’s best not to regard them as ‘magic pills’ that can counteract a bad diet.

It’s always important to ensure that you’re sticking to an excellent diet, are following a sensible exercise plan and are getting enough restorative sleep when it comes to supporting good overall health.

With the constant expansion of technology, we’re exposed to much more artificial light today than we were even just 10 years ago. And we all seem to be spending more and more time on our devices.

There is some evidence to suggest that too much artificial blue light at the wrong time of day can have negative health consequences, and blue light blocking glasses have been created to help combat these potential effects.

(Photo: The Sport Review)

In this article, we’re going to take a detailed look at Filter Optix’s Red and Yellow blue light blocking glasses. We’re going to focus on the main facts to know about them and also reveal how we got on while using them.

Editor's note: The content on this website is meant to be informative in nature, but it should not be taken as medical advice. Our articles and the products featured in them are not intended for use as diagnosis, prevention, and/or treatment of health problems. Always speak with a certified medical professional before making any changes to your lifestyle, diet, exercise routine, and/or taking any supplements.

So, with the introductions out of the way, let’s begin taking a closer look at Filter Optix’s story and products.

Filter Optix – The Basics

Filter Optix was founded by two friends, Robin and Hendrik, in Norway back in 2020. The pair started the company after having become aware of the potential negative health consequences of modern artificial light, especially at night time.

Filter Optix Blue Light Glasses

(Photo: Filter Optix)

Having met while at university and both sharing a keen passion for health and fitness, the two founders wanted to provide a solution for reducing the effects that the modern world can have on our circadian rhythms (body clocks).

Filter Optix manufacture four different types of blue light blocking glasses, ranging from their relatively clear ‘Computer Glasses’ to their ‘Red Glasses’ which are designed to be worn at night before bed to help optimise sleep.

You can buy their glasses direct from the official website with fast shipping to any country in the world. There are options for non-prescription, prescription and readers (the latter two incur a small additional cost).

After having tried out a couple of pairs of Filter Optix glasses, we were highly impressed by both the quality of the lenses and the frames, especially in comparison to some of the other blue light blocking glasses brands we’ve reviewed recently.

Filter Optix Red Lenses

(Photo: The Sport Review)

So, now that we’ve covered some of the basic things to know about Filter Optix as a brand, it’s time to take a look at the glasses themselves.

The Styles and Frames

At the time of writing, all four different lenses were available in a range of six different frame styles. These include the transparent ‘Acero’ and ‘Cedar’ frames that we tried out. The frames are also available in a range of different colours, so you’re sure to be able to find a style that suits you.

Filter Optix Red Lenses

(Photo: Filter Optix)

The first thing we noticed when unpacking the glasses for the first time was the obvious high quality of the product. We found the frames of some of the blue blocker brands we’ve reviewed lately not to be of the highest quality when it comes to sturdiness and overall feel, so we were very pleasantly surprised by the premium feel that we got from the Filter Optix’s glasses. The glasses come with a high-quality solid carrying case and a lens cloth for keeping the glasses safe and clean.

As mentioned above, Filter Optix have a really cool range of different styles of frames to suit all tastes, so be sure to have a browse of the official website to see if there’s one that takes your fancy.

Filter Optix Yellow Lenses

The Lenses and the Effect

As mentioned above, we tried out one pair of ‘Acero’ frames with Red lenses and one pair of ‘Cedar’ frames with Yellow lenses. We were particularly keen to test out the Red lenses, which are designed to offer maximum blue light blocking effectiveness at night time.

If you’ve never used blue light blocking glasses before, then the Red lenses may seem a little bit on the extreme side, as they have been designed to block 100 per cent of blue light, as well as all green light up to 550 nanometers.

We found them to be perfect for use before bed while watching TV or working late looking at a computer screen. The dark red hue creates a really calming vibe which definitely helped us to wind down before bed.

Filter Optix Blue Light Blockers

(Photo: Filter Optix)

We also tested out the Yellow lenses while working indoors at a computer during the daytime. The Yellow lenses are designed to block 100 per cent of blue light up to 470 nanometers, resulting in a fairly significant yellow hue.

Again, the effect was pretty calming and we certainly noticed a benefit – but it’s worth bearing in mind that these lenses do cause some notable colour distortion. If this is an issue, it may be worth exploring Filter Optix’s Clear lenses as an alternative (according to the official website, these block 100 per cent of blue-violet light (HEV) and UV light up to 410 nanometers and 35 per cent of all blue light from of 400 to 495 nanometers).

Filter Optix Review

(Photo: Filter Optix)

It’s also worth noting that all of Filter Optix’s glasses come with an advanced multilayer coating. According to the Filter Optix website, this coating makes the glasses easy to clean while having scratch-resistant and anti-reflection properties, as well as repelling water and dirt particles.

What Are Customers Saying?

With Filter Optix being a relatively new company, there’s not a great deal of customer feedback available to check online at the moment. However, the brand has recently been endorsed by the UK’s leading biohacker Tim Gray, (@timbiohacker on social media).

We’ll come back and update this part of the article once there are more Filter Optix reviews available to read online.

Any Negatives?

Overall, we’ve got to say that we were really impressed by Filter Optix’s glasses.

The only slight drawback that may be an issue for some people is the premium price tag, meaning that they may not fit into everyone’s budget. There are certainly cheaper options out there in terms of price.

Filter Optix Yellow Lenses

(Photo: Filter Optix)

These glasses are not cheap – but it really does feel like you’re paying for quality. So, if you don’t mind paying a little bit extra for a high-quality product, we feel that they’re a really great option.

Is There A Filter Optix Discount Or Coupon Code?

Yes, you can get a 10% discount off your order at Filter Optix by using the code TSR10 at checkout on the official Filter Optix website through this link.

Anything Else To Consider?

Blue light glasses can be a really useful tool when it comes to helping to optimise your circadian rhythm and overall health and wellbeing. However, they are not medical devices and it’s best not to regard them as a ‘miracle’ product that will work wonders.

That said, adding blue blockers to your daily routine really can make a notable difference as you look to optimise your sleep and overall wellbeing.

Filter Optix Glasses Close

(Photo: The Sport Review)

Wrapping Things Up – Our Final Thoughts

So, that brings us to the end of our Filter Optix review. Overall, we must say that we were highly impressed by their blue blocking glasses.

We really enjoyed wearing them and the high quality of both the lenses and the frames was notable during our testing. If you’re looking for a premium-quality pair of blue light blocking glasses you can rely on, we think that Filter Optix are a really great option.

You can get 10% off your order by using the code TSR10 at checkout on the official Filter Optix website, or by following the link shown below.

Form Nutrition’s Superblend Protein is a tasty vegan-friendly protein and nutrient support supplement.

Where to buy: www.formnutrition.com

Designed to provide more than just the usual protein shake, this supplement has added greens, vitamins and minerals to help support your overall health and well-being.

Coming in a fine powder which can be easily mixed with water for a tasty shake, Form’s Superblend Protein is a great option if you’re looking for something that offers a little bit more than a usual protein shake. Available as part of Form’s core selection of protein powders, Superblend Protein certainly stands out from the crowd a little bit in terms of its ingredients profile.

In this review article, we’re going to take a close look at the main things to bear in mind about this supplement, reveal how we got on with it, and bring you everything else you need to know about it so that you can consider whether it’s right for you or not.

So, with the introductions out of the way, let’s start taking a closer look at Form’s Superblend Protein from all angles.

Form Superblend Protein – The Basics

Protein powders are one of the most common types of food supplements around, and they are particularly popular amongst gym goers who are looking to top up their protein intake (as you probably already know, protein contributes to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass).

We’re big fans of Form Nutrition’s plant-based supplements and we’ve already reviewed their main vegan protein powder offering – Form Performance Protein – here on the site.

Form Superblend Protein

Form Superblend Protein (Photo: Form Nutrition)

Form are UK-based supplements company focused on plant-based products to support overall health and wellbeing.

Their Superblend Protein product is like an ‘upgraded’ protein powder, a shake which contains 20g of plant-based protein plus a collection of other ingredients such as essential vitamins and minerals, to support your intake from dietary sources.

It’s currently sold in four flavours – Chocolate Peanut, Chocolate Salted Caramel, Toffee and Vanilla – and each serving contains 20g of protein plus a number of other ingredients.

Form say that their Superblend Protein product ‘redefines’ the protein shake, offering a convenient way to top up your daily nutrient intake as part of a great-tasting and convenient drink.

Let’s cover some of the basics first. Each serving of Superblend Protein contains 20g of plant-based protein (organic pea protein, plus brown rice and pumpkin seed proteins). Depending on the flavour, each serving contains around 150 to 160 total calories, and less than two grams of sugar. Superblend Protein uses the sweeteners Stevia and Thaumatin to enhance taste.

As well as the protein, this supplement also contains a host of added extras. These include a blend of greens and fruit powders such as broccoli powder, beetroot powder and blueberry powder. Also included in this supplement is a blend of vitamins and minerals, including Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamins B6 and B12, Vitamin D3 and Zinc.

Form Superblend Protein

Form Superblend Protein (Photo: Form Nutrition)

These inclusions really do set this supplement apart from most regular protein shakes, which usually include the protein sources, sweeteners and not much else. Each serving of Superblend Protein delivers a range of vitamins and minerals to help support and top up your intake from food sources.

Form Superblend Protein is currently only available in a 520g pouch, or 40g sachets. That being said, you can buy six 520g pouches together for a 20 per cent discount off your order from the Form Nutrition website. One 520g pouch was priced at £26 on the Form website at the time of writing, which definitely does make it quite a premium-priced supplement.

Taste And Flavours

If you’ve read our review of the Form Performance Protein, you’ll know that we rate it as one of the best-tasting vegan protein shakes on the market at the moment.

You might be thinking that with all of the added ingredients in Form’s Superblend Protein the taste and ease of mixing of the powder could be affected, but we were pleasantly surprised to find out that this wasn’t the case.

Form Superblend Protein

Form Superblend Protein (Photo: The Sport Review)

We tried out the Chocolate Salted Caramel flavour. We one serving (two heaped tablespoons) into a glass of water after a workout and found that the mixture dissolved really easily. Most importantly, it tasted great, even just with water.

This protein shake is definitely a little bit on the sweeter side, so that may not be to everyone’s taste, but we loved it and were very impressed that it tasted so good even with just water alone.

As mentioned above, Superblend Protein is currently available in a range of flavours – Chocolate Peanut, Chocolate Salted Caramel (the one we tried), Toffee and Vanilla. Each of the flavours do have slightly different nutritionals when it comes to things like fibre, sugar and fat (see the Form website for more information) – but all of the flavours supply a total of 20g of protein per serving.

What Are Customers Saying?

This supplement is also available on Amazon in the UK, so we took a look on there to see what customers were saying about Superblend Protein.

At the time of writing, Form’s Superblend Protein had an average rating of 4.1 out of 5 stars from a total of 212 ratings on Amazon UK.

One happy customer left a five-star review and said that Form’s Superblend Protein suited them perfectly for what they were looking for.

One of the more negative reviews came from somebody who left a three-star review and said that this supplement was simply too sweet for their liking.

Form Superblend Protein

Anything Else To Bear In Mind?

As with all food supplements, it’s best to speak to your doctor or a certified medical professional before trying anything new or making any changes to your diet.

Be sure to carefully check the ingredients and nutritional values of any supplement you’re thinking of taking, and read the entire label – including the ingredients, warnings and directions – before considering taking it.

It’s also a good idea to carefully check the information provided by the manufacturer on the official website or the packaging itself, as the details may change from time to time and therefore differ from what’s shown on this page.

Wrapping Things Up – Our Final Thoughts

So, that brings us to the end of our Form Superblend Protein review. We’ve walked you through the main things to bear in mind when it comes to this upgraded protein powder. We’ve taken a close look at the ingredients and have brought you the key nutritional things to know about this vegan-friendly protein supplement.

All in all, we were very impressed by Superblend Protein. It contains 20g of good quality plant-based protein per serving and this is complemented by a range of added ingredients such as essential vitamins and minerals.

It tastes really good and mixes really well – but the flavour is certainly on the sweeter side and therefore may not suit everyone’s taste.

Overall, we’re big fans of this protein supplement and it’s a great option if you’re looking for a high-quality plant-based protein shake with added nutrient support and other good inclusions. If you’re looking for a more straightforward vegan protein supplement, be sure to check out the slightly simpler Form Performance Protein.

Have you been thinking about getting a rower?

You may be accustomed to hitting the gym every day or putting on the running shoes and heading out for a jog.

However, a rowing machine can provide a full-body workout in a way that little other fitness equipment can.

Not only do you work your arms and legs, but your back and core play a big role in the perfect rowing stroke.

As a former international rower at youth level, I’m extremely familiar with traditional rowing machines.

Website: hydrow.co.uk

But I was intrigued to give the Hydrow Rower a try to see how it differs from other rowing machines that I’ve previously used.

In this article, we’re going to take a closer look at the Hydrow Rower, their classes and how a Hydrow subscription works.

With the introduction out of the way, let’s examine the Hydrow Rower in closer detail.

Hydrow Rower – The Basics

Hydrow (Photo: Hydrow)

Hydrow have been making waves throughout the fitness world with their eye-catching, state-of-the-art rowing machines.

Having been founded by Bruce Smith in 2017, Hydrow have created one of the leading fitness machines over the past five years. The Hydrow Rower’s design is sleek and stylish, which is unlike most other rowing machines on the market.

They explain on their website that they wanted to create a rower that could grant access to world-class waterways, the sport’s elite athletes, whole-body health and a community that spans centuries.

According to Hydrow, their rowing machine works 86 per cent of major muscle groups, from your legs to your abs, arms and back.

Hydrow subscribers can stream workouts from stunning scenic waterways around the world, with more than 4,000 workouts on the app. Thanks to it’s large built-in screen, their world-class instructors take their boat out on river in order to inspire, engage and motivate you.

Your Hydrow Rower

The Hydrow Rower is a live outdoor reality rower, designed for people who like to work out irrespective of their fitness level. The machine is designed to provide immersive, full-body live and on-demand workouts.

The Hydrow Rower itself is heavy (weighing it at around 66kg) – and it measures at 86 inches (219cm) long, 25 inches (64cm) wide, and 47 inches (120cm) tall.

It has a 22″ touchscreen display and front-facing speakers to allow you to feel immersed in the sounds of the river and the surrounding area where your instructor is rowing.

Unlike other rowing machines that I’ve used for training, there’s no fan as Hydrow use a patented electromagnetic drag mechanism for resistance along with an industrial-grade webbed strap.

The rowing machine will take up a significant amount of space in your room so you’ll need to think carefully about where you’re going to locate it.

It comes with a versatile mat to protect wooden floors and the wheels make it relatively easy to move depending on your strength.

The Hydrow Rower can be stored in an upright position so it doesn’t inadvertently fall over. However, Hydrow don’t recommend storing it in an upright position without their Upright Storage Kit.

Once you’ve got your rower set up, you’ll need a Hydrow membership to use their app. Your Hydrow membership is not included as part of your purchase price and you’re limited to the “Just Row” option if you don’t have an active membership.

How Hydrow Works

Hydrow (Photo: Hydrow)

Hydrow (Photo: Hydrow)

Once you’ve sorted out your membership, you can create an account and access all of the live and on-demand workouts available on the Hydrow screen on your rower.

There’s plenty of diversity and representation within the app so it’s brilliant to see Hydrow establish a real community where you’ll feel inspired to train with your peers.

You can select from a range of different classes, whether you’ve decided to start your fitness journey on the rower with limited or no previous experience of an ergometer.

If you’ve tried the rowing machine at the gym a few times but you’re concerned your technique needs improvement, there are lots of classes so you can work on that particular element.

They’ve got some more taxing workouts that allow you to work on your endurance with steady-state classes that range from 10 to 45 minutes where you’ll feel the gradual burn in your legs.

There’s also race-day classes where you can throw off the shackles and give it your lung-busting best for 10 to 15 minutes to see just how hard you can push yourself.

There’s a leaderboard displayed on the top-right of your screen so you can see how you’re ranking if you’re competitive like me, or you can hide the leaderboard if you want to soak up the atmosphere of the river and the advice for your world-class instructor.

Price And Where To Buy

The Hydrow Rower is price at £1,995 on their official website.

As part of your purchase price, you get a free standard delivery (which their website claims is worth £190).

You also get a one-year home use warranty that is subject to terms and conditions.

Hydrow’s One Membership costs £38 per month but you can create unlimited profiles for your family and get access to a library of 4,000 workouts.

Our Verdict

Hydrow (Photo: Hydrow)

Hydrow (Photo: Hydrow)

I spent the best part of my teenage years either on the river in a rowing boat or sat on a rowing machine (depending on the Irish weather on any particular day!).

As someone who was well-versed in traditional rowing machines, I was intrigued to try the Hydrow Rower to see how the machine performed and assess the experience of rowing without a traditional fan set-up.

The first thing that struck me was the beautiful design of the machine – it looked like a piece of sculpted art placed in my living room rather than a fitness machine.

I was impressed by how quiet my Hydrow Rower was. There was a slight hum but my wife found the monotonous hum more meditative than irritating.

The Hydrow Rower provided a smooth ride, the webbed strap didn’t make any of the loud noises that a chain typically makes when you’re entering the final 100 meters and technique starts to wane.

As an owner of an exercise bike by a popular fitness company, I was intrigued to see how their classes compared seeing as they’re out on the water.

It was lovely to train but hear the sounds of the river, the instructor’s boat, a quad or eight rowing by, and the sounds of the city or nature depending on the instructor’s location.

While I felt this worked really well for classes that were designed to improve technique, work on your fitness or warm up/cool down, I did miss the music element in the race-day classes.

Most Hydrow Rower classes have music but it tends to be drowned out by the exterior noises. I’m someone who craves music when I’m working at 85 per cent or higher. This is my personal preference.

While arranging delivery with the third party in charge of getting the machine to my house wasn’t as seamless as I had hoped, the gentlemen who delivered the machine itself were efficient, engaging and friendly when it came to installation and removal.

Overall, the Hydrow Rower impressed with its overall feel and performance, but this tasty-looking piece of fitness kit definitely has a hefty price-tag.

If I was to invest in a rowing machine, I would certainly consider the Hydrow Rower if my budget could stretch as far as £1,995.

The announcement of the new Peloton rower provides Hydrow with some interesting competition.

Seeing as I’ve already got an active Peloton membership, it would make sense to pay one membership fee rather than two membership payments for a bike and a rower.

However, I believe Peloton will have a tough time outdoing the Hydrow Rower as a machine so I’m intrigued to see if Hydrow will win this battle by a canvas or win with lengths to spare.

What Customers Have To Say About The Hydrow Rower

Hydrow Rower (Photo: Hydrow)

Hydrow Rower (Photo: Hydrow)

The Hydrow Rower has an average rating of 4.7 stars based upon nearly 10,000 reviews on independent review website Trustpilot.

Mark felt compelled to uncharacteristically leave a review such was his delight with his Hydrow Rower.

“Amazing bit of kit..cannot recommend enough. My wife was dubious and implying I was having a midlife crisis when taking the splash and buying a Hydrow however she currently has more metres under her belt than me! Immersive experience with inspirational instructors. Don’t think twice when considering purchasing. I’m not someone who takes time to write positive reviews or is easily impressed but I need to get the message out there!”

Julie has notched up 26 consecutive weeks of Hydrow Rower workouts!

“This is the best fitness equipment that I have every purchased (I also have a professional gym quality treadmill and elliptical). The workouts are so engaging with the Hydrow rowing team and I look forward to getting on the machine to row. I’ve rowed now for 26 weeks straight and am set a goal to row 100,000 meters in the month of July. It’s toned my abs, my legs, my arms and am feeling great!”

Robert believes the Hydrow Rower is worth every penny!

“We have had our new rower from Hydrow for a couple of weeks and so far we are extremely pleased with quality of the construction, the ease of assembly, and the ease of use. The action is super smooth with no snap back like an old school ergometer. The video production level is also high quality and the rower athlete instructors are fun to follow to set a pace for the workouts. Well worth the higher $ value for the quality of the product and the experience.”

Hydrow Rower – Our Final Thoughts

Hydrow (Photo: Hydrow)

Hydrow (Photo: Hydrow)

We’ve reached the end of our Hydrow Rower review.

Overall, I was really impressed with the Hydrow Rower and if readers are looking to add a rowing machine to their fitness workouts, you won’t go wrong with this top-class piece of equipment.

The Hydrow Rower has an eye-catching design, performs at a top-class level, has over 4,000 workouts in a variety of locations and provides a thriving rowing community.

It can be stored in an upright position once you’ve completed your workouts so it doesn’t have to take up a lot of room in your home unless you’ve got a dedicated home gym.

Hydrow will have some competition from Peloton in the coming months but Hydrow have a commanding lead that it’s difficult to see them relinquishing any time soon.

Are you looking for a daily vitamin and herbal extract supplement personalised to you and your needs?

It can be hassle having to get numerous vitamin tubs out of the cupboard and double checking you haven’t forgotten one of the capsules.

You’ve got to pour a glass of water and then swallowing lots of capsules isn’t the most pleasant experience first thing in the morning or after an exhaustive workout.

And if you’re someone who travels a lot, it can be time-consuming to have to prepare all of your vitamins in a tray. Most people probably won’t bother with the hassle of packing their vitamins seeing as it’s an inconvenience.

And if you’ve got children, it can be extremely difficult trying to convince them to take their vitamins.

Nourished’s premium, personalised supplements can solve some, if not all, of these problems.

Website: get-nourished.com

Packed with seven ‘nourishments’, they use 3D printing technology to create a stack and can provide you with a subscription to make life easy.

In this article, we’re going to take a close look at Nourished Vitamins, how you can sign up, how it works, what customers are saying as well as giving our verdict.

Nourished Vitamins – The Basics

Website: get-nourished.com

Nourished (Photo: The Sport Review)

Nourished (Photo: The Sport Review)

Nourished was created by Melissa Snover, who is an entrepreneur, registered nutritionist, and self-confessed health fanatic.

She came up with the idea for Nourished in 2018 as she sought to find a more convenient way to take daily vitamins rather than lots of pills.

Nourished make what their website describes as truly tailor-made nutrition which is 100 per cent vegan, eco-friendly and delicious.

They only use ingredients that are sourced from high-grade vegan whole-food sources and they carry out lab tests to maintain high standards.

Nourished say they’ve spent over 100,000 lab hours and worked with industry experts and nutritionists to ensure their custom stacks are raising the bar.

Their website proudly claims that they’re the UK’s highest-rated vitamin product, with over 50,000 customers who have opted to personalise their daily vitamins thanks to Nourished’s innovative technology.

Getting Started

Nourished (Photo: The Sport Review)

Nourished (Photo: The Sport Review)

Nourished create personalized nutrition stacks that are customized and tailored to your specific needs and preferences. You start your journey with Nourished by completing their online quiz, entering your name, age and ethnicity.

Nourished offer supplement stacks for adults and children. So if you’re a family, you can sort out a vitamin stack for you and for your kids, meaning you’re all covered!

Next, they’ll look to understand a little more about how you’ve been feeling lately, asking about your recent energy levels, whether you’ve been active, using your phone a lot and sleeping well. They’ll ask about your usual method of exercise and how often you travel, whether for a holiday or for work.

If you follow a vegan, vegetarian or other specific diet, Nourished give you the opportunity to share your dietary requirements. Remember – all of their vitamins are vegan friendly. Sticking with diet, Nourished then look to learn about your eating habits and components of your diet, such as how often you consume fruit, vegetables, processed food and alcohol.

Continuing with the sign-up process, they ask whether you wear contact lenses before enquiring about any potential health conditions or considerations.

The final stage of the sign-up quiz involves setting your goals to help find out what you want to achieve from signing up to Nourished, whether it’s weight management, an immunity boost, better energy levels or improved sleep quality.

Your Nourished Stack

Nourished (Photo: The Sport Review)

Nourished (Photo: The Sport Review)

Once you’re near the end of your Nourished sign-up quiz, you’ll be asked to select your stack’s coating. You can choose between blackcurrant, orange, strawberry, pineapple, coca cola or original. Once you’ve selected the flavour, you can opt for sweet or sour.

You are able to choose to any specific ‘nourishments’ that you want to include in your stack irrespective of Nourished’s recommendations before you find out the results of your quiz.

When I completed their quiz and received my results, Nourished recommended seven nourishments to help optimise my lifestyle diet and priorities. These included ‘nourishments’ to improve performance, endurance and recovery, as well as better stress management and mental wellbeing.

In my stack was Tart Cherry, Vitamin B12, Ginger Extract, Beetroot, Lutemax 2020, Maca Powder and Ashwagandha Extract.

Nourished go through each of your seven Nourishments to explain their potential benefits. So you can get a clear understanding of what you’re consuming and why.

How Nourished Works

Nourished (Photo: The Sport Review)

Nourished (Photo: The Sport Review)

Now that Nourished have an insight into you and your daily habits, and they’ve provided the results of your quiz and suggested a seven-Nourishment stack for you, it’s time to make your stack come to life.

Each of your seven inclusions will be 3D printed on demand in a daily, gummy stack. In each box, there will be 28 daily stacks to promote a happy and healthy lifestyle.

Nourished’s website explains that you should eat one stack per day and there’s no need to consume them alongside a meal or water as your body will consume Nourished just like food.

While I usually had my Nourished in the morning after my workout, their website explains that their stacks can be taken at anytime throughout the day to fit in with your daily routine.

It’s worth noting that Nourished’s gummies are sugar-free despite the sugar-like coating which comes from the natural sweetener found in fruits. They’ve got a NON-GMO approach and their products are plant-based. Each Nourished stack is also contained in fully plastic-free packaging.

Price And Where To Buy

You can make a one-time purchase of a Nourished stack at a price of £39.99. That works out a cost of £1.43 per day.

However, you can save 30% if you sign up to their monthly subscription plan. It costs £35.99 per month, which works out at £1.29 a day and you’ll receive a box every four weeks.

Nourished describe their subscriptions as hassle-free and fully flexible, so you can amend your stack and switch nourishments as your lifestyle, needs and goals change.

Our Verdict

Nourished (Photo: The Sport Review)

Nourished (Photo: The Sport Review)

Before Nourished, I was accustomed to taking three to four pills a day as I attempted to ensure that I was consuming the vitamins necessary to promote a healthy life.

However, I’d often to forget to take one or more of the vitamins seeing as I’m usually in a rush in the morning and I don’t have the time to fuss around taking each vitamin out of the tub and then pouring a glass of water.

I loved that Nourished’s stacks were contained in a eco-friendly wrapper and I could take all seven Nourishments at once so it was super simple to add to my routine.

I opted for a sweet strawberry flavour which was nice. In the future, I’d like to try some other flavours to see how they compare. It certainly was a pleasant experience consuming the stack.

I trialled a month’s supply of Nourished at a particularly challenging time of the year. Alongside meditating and exercising, I felt my daily Nourished stack helped to support me through the testing period, and I liked the idea that my stack was helping to support recoveries from my workouts.

At a price of around £1.50 per day, Nourished costs less than a cup of coffee at your local coffee shop. So if you take your health seriously, it’s a price you can justify paying.

What Customers Have To Say About Nourished

At the time of writing, Nourished as a company had an average rating of 4.2 stars out of five on independent review website Trustpilot. Let’s take a look at some of the reviews.

Izzie gave a frank but overall positive review.

I was a bit sceptical about Nourished at first but I was also curious and wanted to know more, so when I saw an offer I signed up. I’ve been delighted with everything they’ve done and everything I’ve had from them. The great benefit of their supplements is that I actually take them – they make it very easy. Have they changed my life? Probably not. Do I feel miles better since starting them three months ago? Definitely.

Hannah gave a glowing five-star review.

These stacks are brilliant since I have been having the stacks I don’t feel like snacking in between meals,I have more energy and the taste fantastic I do like how you can change the coatings anytime. Also the customer service are brilliant they are very helpful, caring, kind, understanding and answer any enquiries and questions.

Anything Else To Consider?

As we mentioned earlier in the review, you can get Nourishment stacks for adults and children. So if you’ve got children in your home, you can get them a Nourishment stack to improve their energy levels, sleep or concentration levels.

While their top product is the personalized vitamin stacks, Nourished also offer multivitamins and protein bars, so you could add the latter to your diet to help with recovery after a workout or a quick snack when you’re at work.

Nourished – Our Final Thoughts

Nourished (Photo: The Sport Review)

Nourished (Photo: The Sport Review)

We’ve reached the end of our Nourished review. They’re an innovative company who are provide the opportunity to get a daily dose of vitamins and herbal extracts in a convenient stack.

By using their sign-up questionnaire, they’ll suggest seven tasty nourishments that are best suited to your goals and lifestyles.

Created using their clever 3D technology, Nourished wrap each stack in a plastic-free, compostable wrapper before shipping it to your doorstep.

These made fresh-to-order vitamins can be purchased as a one-off or through their monthly subscription service.

Having tried Nourishment for a full month and felt the range of benefits, you won’t go wrong if you’re looking for a convenient and healthy way to stick to a daily vitamin schedule.

While it is a premium price at £35.99 a month (or £39.99 one-off purchase), Nourished’s premium personalised nourishments are worth it in my opinion.

Are you looking for a jogging stroller?

If you’re a new parent or an expecting parent who likes to run, you’ll probably be familiar with the concept of a running pram.

They’re designed to provide a comfortable experience for the parent jogging and a seamless ride for the very important passenger in the pram seat.

You may be surprised by the number of options within the jogging stroller market as lots of companies look to cater to parents who are fitness enthusiasts.

In this article, we’re going to take a close look at one of the leading running prams available on the market at the moment – the Thule Urban Glide 2.

Where To Buy: www.amazon.com

We’re going to take a close look at this jogging stroller, including some of the key features, the pros and cons, what customers are saying and give our verdict on this nifty piece of parenting gear.

So without further ado, let’s take a closer look at the Thule Urban Glide 2.

Who Are Thule?

Thule are a Swedish company who have been providing essential and innovative tools for adventure over the past 75 years.

Founded in 1942, Thule have manufactured a series of product designed to empower adventurers, including ski racks, bike carrier, multifunctional trailers and jogging strollers.

Thule’s website explains that their aim is to develop products that meet their four core values of quality, safety, design and being easy to use.

With a Thule Test Center in Sweden, they rigorously test all their products to ensure their high standards are met, using their 25 Thule Test Standards that their website claims far exceed the current ISO standard.

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is just one of their contemporary products designed to satisfy demanding users. Now that we know a little bit more about the company behind this jogging stroller, let’s take a closer look at the running pram itself.

Thule Urban Glide 2 – Main Points

Where To Buy: www.amazon.com

Thule Urban Glide 2 (Photo: Thule)

Thule Urban Glide 2 (Photo: Thule)

Thule describe their Urban Glide 2 as the ultimate all-terrain stroller.

It has a sleek, lightweight design that makes it pretty easy to maneuver, while the swivel front wheel makes it easy to steer. Thule recommend locking the swivel wheel into place for jogging.

The 16-inch rear wheels are coupled with suspension to ensure a smooth ride for both parent and child irrespective of the terrain. The rims of the wheels have reflectors to provide increased visibility.

Thule have installed an adjustable, ergonomic handle to improve the jogger’s experience of manipulation and steering the stroller. The handle comes with a twist hand brake to provide control around corners and down hills.

The Urban Glide 2 has a reclining seat that is a convenient one-handed recline. The seat is padded with a five-point harness and integrated ventilation to ensure your precious cargo is comfortable and content.

There’s lot of room to store essentials such as a water bottle, baseball cap, keys, smartphone, change of clothes, spare shoes and much more in the large cargo basket with a zip-top cover. Other storage options include a rear mesh pocket and two mesh compartments for smaller items.

It has a one-handed, compact fold for easy storage and transportation. With a weight of 11.5kg, the Thule Urban Glide 2 is relatively easy to take out of the car or remove from the storage shed.

Thule Urban Glide 2 – Pros And Cons

Pros

• Best of class
• Running comfort
• Plenty of storage
• Reflective rims
• Swivel wheel
• Simple to collapse

Cons

• Expensive
• Handlebar adjuster
• Folding catch
• Swivel wheel

Our Verdict

Thule Urban Glide 2 (Photo: The Sport Review)

Thule Urban Glide 2 (Photo: The Sport Review)

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is the best in class in the jogging stroller category.

If you’re an active parent like me, the Thule Urban Glide 2 can handle jogs or walks on all terrains. I found it to be extremely easy to maneuver thanks to the swivel front wheel. This feature sets it apart from the other running prams that I’ve reviewed.

The integrated twist hand brake was easy to use and offered quick access if required going around a sharp bend or down a steep hill, while the foot break is simple and effective. However, a friend who also owns this jogging stroller found the handbrake’s placement in the middle a bit inconvenient, suggesting a location on the side would have been better. This could be a matter of personal preference.

The Thule Urban Glide 2 has a one-handed, compact fold which makes it easy to store and to transport. The swivel wheel can prove a little cumbersome, though. It would be great if there was a way to pop the front wheel off in the same manner the rear wheels can be removed.

The buttons to remove the rear wheels don’t have an especially pronounced feel and little indication of when they’re sufficiently depressed for the wheel to be removed. On the other hand, they work reliably for both removal and insertion and if the mechanism is good enough for wheelchairs, they’ll surely do here.

A single handlebar adjuster method would be nice. As some parents may be able to relate to, I only ever have one hand free when I realise my (shorter) wife was the last to use the buggy and wanted to adjust the height. This aside, the buttons are functional and offer solid engagement.

Much the same as with other pushchairs, the seat was very easy to let down single handed but requires two hands to push up. It’s secure in any case, and it allows for a good recline which has never failed to send our daughter off to sleep. As with the bar adjuster buttons, a single handed system to raise it up would be a nice touch.

The foot brake is simple, effective and easy. I have only praise for this, including using a series of bends so that the steel wire acts as both the locking pin and spring.

As someone who likes to bring a big water bottle on my run, I appreciated the ample storage options included in the Thule and the velcro allows for quick access. It was so seamless to use that I even found it easy to run with Thule with my mini huskies alongside me and I can bring a water bowl for them too.

Having tried multiple jogging strollers, the Thule Urban Glide 2 produced by far the smoothest ride for both parent and baby. It was easy to steer, extremely responsive and provided my daughter with a more comfortable experience thanks to the added padding.

It could have been a good idea to add a little colour to the straps even if was just a grey. It could help pick out the straps against the identical black interior. That the buckle can be connected one side at a time is great, especially with a wriggly child, and differs from other similar systems.

It’s easy to release for an adult but feels stiff enough to be child-proof. The side and back padding appears more than adequate given the number of silent sleeping miles, and the extra mesh pockets are a nice touch.

Although it’s one of the most expensive jogging strollers on the market and there are some design tweaks that I’d like to see, it’s still worth every penny in my opinion.

Price

Thule Urban Glide 2 (Photo: Thule)

Thule Urban Glide 2 (Photo: Thule)

The Thule Urban Glide 2 is priced at £599.00 if you purchase directly from their website.

Readers based in the USA can purchase the Thule Urban Glide 2 on Amazon, where it’s priced at around $600 (Amazon link).

Anything Else To Consider?

There are some areas of improvement. For instance, to adjust the handlebars, you need to use both hands which can be tricky if you’re multitasking.

I broke the folding catch the first time I took the Thule out of the box (this also happened to a fellow parent with the Thule Urban Glide 2 upon unboxing). This seems to be a design fault as the small part may not be fit for purpose.

Going by the reviews on online review website Trustpilot, Thule do have some work to do with their customer service within the UK.

Wrapping Up – Our Final Thoughts

We’ve reached the end of the Thule Urban Glide 2 review.

Thule Urban Glide 2 (Photo: Thule)

Thule Urban Glide 2 (Photo: Thule)

In our opinion, the Urban Glide 2 is the best option if you’re looking for a jogging stroller and you’ve got a sizable budget to spend.

It’s extremely easy to steer thanks to the swivel front wheel coupled with a simple braking system so you can focus on your running technique rather than becoming flustered with trying to control the running pram.

My daughter appeared to be comfortable and content in the padded Thule seat, with the buckle system much easier to use than some of their competitors in the market.

If you’re looking for the best possible running experience with your child, I would recommend the Thule Urban Glide 2 as the best option within the jogging stroller market.

Are you a new parent looking to find a running buggy capable of handling a variety of terrains?

Whether you’re a parent looking to find a stroller suitable for jogging or a buggy that can handle off-road conditions, the Nipper Sport could provide you with the solution you’ve been searching for.

Having won numerous awards for the best running buggy and the best value running buggy, we’ve decided to take a close look at the Nipper Sport to see just how good it is.

Where To Buy: www.amazon.co.uk

In this article, we’ll take a look at some of the key features of the running buggy, how much the Nipper Sport costs, what Out’n’About customers have to say and provide our verdict.

So without further ado, let’s examine the Out’n’About Nipper Sport in a bit more detail.

Who Are Out’n’About?

Out’n’About started out as a company looking to cater to new parents.

They wanted to allow new parents to continue their active outdoor lifestyles with their newest and smallest member of their family.

Having launched in 2001, Out’n’About have continued to create products to allow families to get outside and explore together.

They started by looking to find the perfect off-road all-terrain buggy, leading to the design and manufacture of their Nipper range.

While attempting to keep true to the design of the original Nipper buggy, Out’n’About have kept up with consumer trends and expanded their offerings.

They’ve proven so popular and successful that even the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge selected a bespoke version of the Nipper as their off-road buggy of choice a few years ago.

For the purposes of this article, we’ll be taking a look at the Out’n’About Nipper Sport.

The Nipper Sport has large 16″ wheels and a fixed front wheel for all terrain stability.

With a lightweight aluminium frame, the Nipper Sport is easy to lift in and out of storage or remove from the car trunk.

Out’n’About’s design has a handlebar mounted brake lever (located in the middle) and an easy lock pedal break.

The handle bar can be adjusted to suit each parent and comes with lots of padding to provide a pleasant experience for the hands (no blisters!).

With rear suspension, Out’n’About are hoping to provide both parent and child with a smooth ride irrespective of surface.

The Nipper Sport has a multi-position reclining seat which is padded and a 5-point safety harness.

Our Verdict

Out’n’About Nipper Sport running buggy (Photo: The Sport Review)

Having tried a number of running strollers on the market right now, the Out’n’About Nipper Sport Running Buggy does hold its own.

While it wouldn’t be my first choice in terms using it for jogging, this versatile running pram does represent the best value if you’re unwilling to pay a premium price for one of their rivals.

I used the Nipper Sport on a variety of different surfaces, including tarmac, gravel and off-road. It held up on all surfaces and I was impressed by the minimal wear and tear on the tyres.

The front wheel is fixed so it can make it more challenging when tackling corners or sharp turns, requiring more effort on your part to adjust the direction and momentum of the running buggy.

This is something to consider if you plan to use the Nipper Sport for walking rather than running and you anticipate some trips into cafes, shops or restaurants. It can be awkward to maneuver in tight situations.

The Nipper Sport has a handlebar mounted brake lever that works well, but perhaps could be a little more responsive. Its location in the middle of the handlebar is similar to other brands but some runners may have preferred a brake lever on the side rather than the middle.

The foot-break works well with minimal faff if you need to take a break from running to sip some water or tend to your very important passenger.

The Nipper Sport can be folded away using the lever on the left side of the running buggy – I found it quite awkward to operate in comparison to some one-handed, compact folds that other running strollers use.

If you’ve got a wiggle worm like me, you may find the 5-point safety harness a little tricky to use, especially if you’re looking to strap in your baby without help from another parent. The buckles can be difficult to thread through the padding (which is great but almost too padded!).

Aside from the fixed wheel, the Nipper Sport provides for an extremely smooth ride with excellent rear suspension and it held up better on all terrains than some other more expensive running strollers on the market.

There’s ample storage options for parents who need places to store personal items. I really appreciated the subtle storage on the hood for my keys and phones. The shopping basket is large enough to store spare clothes, but perhaps not ideal for smaller items that might slip through the mesh.

What Customers Are Saying

Out’n’About Nipper Sport running buggy (Photo: The Sport Review)

Out’n’About Nipper Sport Running Buggy had an average rating of 4.6 stars out of 5 based upon nearly 250 reviews on online retailer Amazon at the time of writing.

Kelly (Amazon link), who wrote the top-rated positive review of the Nipper Sport, was full of praise for the running buggy.

This product is fantastic! Really well designed with the extra brake on the handlebar to enable you to slow the pram down hill etc. It was bought to use as a running stroller, but can be used much wider, particularly over rough ground. Brilliant fit those who want to get back into running while looking after the baby, and our baby has had a good long snooze each time we’ve taken her out in it. The front wheel is fixed position only, and cannot be set to swivel, but the stroller is light enough to turn by slightly lifting the front so this is not much of an inconvenience, and definitely best to put safety first.

However, another customer H (Amazon link) docked the Nipper Sport two stars due to issues with some of the bolts, the rain cover and the breaks. But he conceded that as one of the more affordable running strollers on the market, he’s been impressed overall.

I’ve had this pushchair about two years, and while it didn’t see much use during the first lockdown, it’s now the primary method of getting my toddler to and from nursery. To date I believe I’ve ran somewhere between 2-3,000 km with this thing, mainly roads (but with our potholes I’m glad of the stabilizers). My son never fails for fall asleep in it at the end of the day. It turns easy, moves quickly, and will hold a fair amount of stuff in the bag at the back. He’s a little lad, so I reckon he’ll still be able to fit comfortably for another year until his 4th birthday. I love it, and I’m glad I took a chance on it.

Price

The Out’n’About Nipper Sport is competitive priced at £369.00 (on Amazon) for carnival red or £395.00 (on Amazon) for black.

Anything Else To Consider

If you’re still thinking about taking the plunge on the Nipper Sport, you should know that it comes with a quilted seat liner and rain cover (essential if you’re planning to use it in the UK!).

The Nipper Sport is compatible with all Out’n’About accessories.

Wrapping Up – Our Final Thoughts

Out’n’About Nipper Sport running buggy (Photo: Out’n’About )

We’ve reached the end of our review of the Out’n’About Nipper Sport Running Buggy.

It’s an extremely versatile running stroller capable of handling every surface.

The Nipper Sport is excellent value when you consider it’s half the price of some of its competitors.

If you’re working on a budget, the Out’n’About Nipper Sport gives new parents the chance to work out, get some fresh air and provide a comfortable ride for children all at an affordable price.

While it lacks some of the convenience of more expensive running strollers on the market, we certainly can’t argue with the price!

The Theragun mini is the smallest and lightest massage gun in the Theragun range and has been designed with ultimate portability in mind.

It weighs less than one kilogram and has been engineered to offer high-quality percussive therapy while you are travelling or out and about.

It boasts an impressive battery life and features a different design to Theragun’s flagship triangular offering, which is a key feature of their other massage guns including the Theragun Elite, which we recently reviewed here on the site.

The massage gun market has exploded in recent years, and there are loads of different products to choose from. However, the Theragun mini stands out from the crowd a little bit as a more portable option, which also boasts a unique design.

In this review article, we’re going to take a detailed look at the Theragun mini from all angles, paying particularly close attention to what it’s like to use, how loud it is and whether it lives up to the marketing hype or not.

So, with the introductions out of the way, let’s begin taking a closer look at the Theragun mini in a bit more detail.

Theragun mini – The Basics

Where to buy: www.amazon.com

As we have already mentioned above, the Theragun mini is the smallest and lightest percussive therapy device in the Theragun range of products.

You’ve probably already heard of Theragun as one of the market leaders in the massage gun market, and the Theragun mini has plenty of unique plus points that sets it apart from similar devices.

The Theragun mini (Photo: The Sport Review)

The Theragun mini (Photo: The Sport Review)

Firstly, it’s been specifically designed with portability in mind. It weighs just 650 grams (1.4 lbs) and is by far the smallest product in the Theragun range in terms of dimensions (it’s 14.7cm wide at its widest point).

It also stands out a little bit thanks to its design, which differs from the triangular make-up of the rest of the Theragun range.

Featuring an ergonomic design, the Theragun mini has been designed to be easily held in your hand, and according to the official website, offers “reduced hand and wrist strain”.

Theragun describe the mini as a “portable massager” which is “compact but powerful” and which aims to be one of the most agile massage devices on the market.

Like the other products in the Theragun range, the mini uses a brushless motor featuring QuietForce Technology. This means that the mini operates at a level that is “quiet for any setting” according to the official Therabody website.

The Theragun mini, like its more expensive brothers and sisters, also features Active Torque Control, which helps to maintain consistent depth and speed when pressure is applied.

Priced at £175 or $199, the Theragun mini is considerably cheaper than the other devices in the range. Of course, there are a few things missing compared to its more expensive sister products.

Firstly, the Theragun mini only comes with one attachment head – the Standard Ball. The Theragun Elite comes with five attachment heads in total, while the Theragun PRO offers six options. The Theragun Prime comes with a total of four head attachments.

The Standard Ball attachment which comes with the Theragun mini is removable, however, so you could opt to add other attachments at a later date should you so wish.

The Theragun mini also doesn’t feature any kind of display, unlike its counterparts. This means that things such as the precise battery level and percussion speed are not easily visible.

The Theragun mini comes with a travel pouch

The device also features three built-in speeds (1750, 2100, 2400 PPMs) which can be accessed at any time, directly on the device. There is no option of speed customisation between these ranges, which is the case with the PRO and the Elite.

The Theragun mini, which boasts a 150-minute total battery life, also comes with a neat carrying pouch, making it easy for you to throw it into your bag as you head out of the door.

What’s It Like To Use?

The device has a sturdy and quality feel to it, and one of the first things we noticed was how small the Theragun mini actually is. It’s by far the smallest massage gun we’ve tested out, making it a great option for those looking for a portable device.

Operating the device is fairly straightforward. There is a circular power button on the site of the device, with three white LEDs to the side of it to indicate the percussion speed.

There is also a blue LED in the centre of the power button which indicates that the power is on or that the device is being charged. The LED also changes colour (from red to green) to indicate the current battery level.

The Theragun mini features an easy-to-grip handle (Photo: The Sport Review)

Using the device for the first time is a pleasant experience. You need to simply hold down the power button and select your desired speed before putting the device into action.

We found the Theragun mini to be surprisingly powerful for such a small device, and we really did not notice a huge amount of difference with regards to the quality of the percussion from other more premium-priced massage guns we’ve tested out recently.

How Loud Is It?

Choosing a massage gun that doesn’t make too much noise is important to some people. Noise may be more of an issue for those looking for a more portable device such as the Theragun mini, as they may perhaps be set to use the product out and about more often.

The Theragun mini is pleasantly quiet to use, even when it is on its highest speed setting. On its lowest speed setting the Theragun mini is pretty quiet, and we wouldn’t worry about using this device while out and about.

Of course, the noise the product emits does increase as you move up the speeds, but that’s to be expected.

Price And Where To Buy

The Theragun mini is the cheapest product in the Theragun massage gun range and, at the time of writing, costs £175 or $199.

You can get the product directly from the official website at www.therabody.com, and it’s also available to buy on Amazon in both the UK and the US.

The Theragun mini is also available to buy from a select number of other retailers.

Additionally, if you’re buying in the USA from the official website, Theragun offer a 60-day trial. Check the official Therabody website for the full terms and conditions.

What Are Customers Saying?

At the time of writing, the Theragun mini had an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars on Amazon from a total of more than 380 global ratings.

One positive review came from a customer who said that the device had helped them to deal with their back issues, describing the Theragun mini as a “great find”.

Another five-star review came from somebody who described the Theragun mini as a “fantastic” piece of kit, saying that it’s a great option to help with general aches and pains.

Pros and Cons

Let’s now take a look at some of the pros and cons of the Theragun mini.

Pros:
• Cheapest device in Theragun range
• Quiet and powerful
• Portable and comes with a carrying case
• Easy to use

Cons:
• Only comes with one head attachment (you can buy more separately)
• Has only three speed settings that cannot be changed

Anything Else To Consider?

Be sure to carefully read all of the instructions that come with the product before using it for the first time. This will help you to operate it in a safe way, and also ensures that you’ll be able to get the most out of it.

Massage guns and percussive therapy devices are generally designed to help with warm-ups and recovery, and so they shouldn’t be treated as medical products. If you have any concerns about your health, you should speak to your doctor.

Wrapping Things Up – Our Verdict

So, that brings us to the end of our Theragun mini review.

All in all, we were highly impressed by this small and portable massage gun. It’s quiet, packs a lot of punch for such a small device, and is made by one of the market leaders.

It’s a great option if you’re looking for an affordable and portable percussive therapy device, and it would also suit those looking to purchase their first massage gun.

New Balance have a reputation for great running shoes. The Fresh Foam X 880v12 is one of their latest offerings.

The X 880v12 was released in spring 2022 to cater to both men and women who like to run mile after mile on a variety of surfaces.

If you’re a fan of New Balance and their running shoes, you’ll be familiar with their Fresh Foam technology.

The Fresh Foam range has provided runners looking for cushioned comfort with a welcome solution.

We’ve previously reviewed New Balance Fresh Foam 1080 v8, New Balance Fresh Foam 1080v11 and Fresh Foam Zante v4.

For the purposes of this article, we’ll be taking a look at their Fresh Foam X 880v12 to give you an insight into how running feels wearing these shoes and where you can buy a pair.

Fit: The New Balance Fresh Foam X 880v12 has a comfortable fit with lots of support for runners who prefer to travel longer distances during their training sessions. The shoes held up well when tested with a couple of 8k runs and even a 10k run in the same week. New Balance say on their website that these shoes have a “plush”, engineered mesh upper that is infused with strategic zones of breathability and support.

Feel: You can tell these are members of the Fresh Foam range with the midsole spring that is associated with this particular type of New Balance running shoe. Their website explains that the top-bed foam and Fresh Foam X underfoot construction displaces heel impact and offers a responsive approach to cushioning.

Ride: As we’ve already mentioned in this review, the New Balance Fresh Foam X 880v12 have been created to allow runners to go the extra mile, both figuratively and literally. New Balance declare that the new Fresh Foam X 880v12 is their hardest working shoe for the daily runner. As a daily runner myself, I was impressed with how these shoes held up on a variety of surfaces, whether it was tarmac, gravel or trail. They offered lots of support and sufficient spring even as I racked up the miles on my runs.

Our Verdict

I prefer to run on a variety of surfaces and usually at least 8-10k at a time. So I was excited to try the New Balance Fresh Foam X 880v12 to see how it could contend with mid-to-long distance running.

I liked the colour and the design of the shoes (side note: it paired perfectly with my retro Steph Curry Golden State Warriors jersey).

They felt comfortable with good ventilation so my feet didn’t overheat even in humid conditions on my local canal.

The X 880v12 were able to handle a number of different surfaces, with the midsole cushioning perfect for the uneven gravel on the canal near my home.

Having previously tested some of the other New Balance Fresh Foam shoes, I could identify their latest offering were part of the range.

Our Verdict

Prior to testing these shoes out, I had heard a lot of great things about Hoka One One, so I was delighted to put their Carbon X 3s to the test.

These running shoes were both comfortable and supportive, whether I ran on tarmac or on gravel.

The propulsive ride was evident – I felt as though I could find an extra gear with these shoes thanks to their innovative design.

The Hoka Carbon X 3 fitted my feet snuggly without suffocating my toes, with the performance knit allowing for added breathability.

What Customers Are Saying

The Hoka Carbon X 3 received positive feedback in the review section of Hoka’s official website. Of course, official website tend to feature more positive reviews than other sites, but overall the feedback was favourable.

Aidan described the Carbon X 3 as being perfect for long runs:

Once I changed the insoles for more comfortable ones, the X3 just came to life and every run I have done in them has been such a delight. Excellent responsiveness and the upper is wonderful. It does feel a bit narrow, so if you have a wide foot, be careful or go a half size up.

Meanwhile, Kirit was impressed with the improvements made to the latest model compared to the previous offering:

Absolutely love the updates to the Carbon X. Knitted upper fits like a glove, and the softer cushioning under foot is very welcomed. All in a lighter weight package too – brilliant!

Features such as breathable engineered knit, extended heel pull and carbon fibre plate have been engineered to help runners take their performance to next level.

Hoka suggest using these running shoes for race and road but personally I found them to be excellent on every surface.
